Unfortunately I am unable to share a positive experience! I was denied accommodation, due to pedantic processes and a wholly bungled booking procedure. My booking for accommodation, for a Friday and Saturday business trip, was to be arranged by the company I represent (through a standardised company process, via Emails and electronic payment). Upon my late arrival in Rustenburg at 21:00 hrs on Friday night (due to numerous stop-and-go delays and abysmal truck traffic congestion on the roads) I contacted the guesthouse by cell phone to enquire about directions to the place, only to be informed that no booking had been confirmed for my accommodation. I enquired if accommodation was available and was told that it was possible, but that I should pay for it in advance. Being unable to do so, as I am bound by company procedures, I contacted my company manager who assured me that a booking had been confirmed with the guesthouse, but the lady I spoke to denied this fact. When he in turn, contacted them to try to arrange accommodation for me and to explain the company's payment policy, he was informed that they were not willing to accommodate him. Fortunately he was able to, at that late hour, locate alternative accommodation for me in Rustenburg.
