How is this a private hospital that claims MediClinic standards?? Everything was absolutely dismal, from patient care after surgery (medical ward), nurse attention, rude ward supervisor, food, information, rudeness to my partner visiting and supporting me. Atrocious. Would not choose this place again even if dying.

This hospital has some of the countries best surgeons consulting here. However, the nursing care is abysmal. They are rough, dismissive and do not pay attention to detail. IV lines are not properly flushed before running fluids. Medications are not properly administered. If you did a spot check of patients lines you would find air bubbles and blood back in a significant portion of patients.

Despite being one of South Africa’s main tourist hospitals (treating patients from the SADC region) I felt like there was an element of xenophobia from South African healthcare workers… I could be wrong, but that’s what I felt.

For SADC patients traveling to SA, perhaps try Cape Town mediclinic as the city is more metropolitan and the people are a bit more exposed.

Great surgeons though. Sadly, surgeons can only do so much. And there are equally good surgeons in Cape Town.

DANGER! STAY FAR AWAY!!

The hospital is wheeling COVID patients around non-COVID wards. While waiting for X-rays a family friend of our, admitted to hospital for COVID-19 complications was wheeled past us - the nurse wheeling her had no mask on! The receptionist asked us to "Please step back" while they wheeled her through - this happened twice while waiting for X-rays.

A total disgrace u0026 this hospital should be made to answer for their carelessness

All the Staff are absolutely amazing! From the coffee shop staff, porters, nurses and doctors! All happy u0026 ready to answer questions u0026 concerns! Felt at ease and comfortable! Thank you!
