We visited this place on a weekend with friends and family. We visited Montecasino and had lunch at this place. The staff was very polite and helpful. We had a good time and the food was good too. It has very nice menu options and the dishes were tasty too. We even had 2 kids accompanying us and even they are nicely. Will visit again for sure

Indian food done right! You are not going to find any bunny chows here bru.

We were walking through Monte on our way to another spot we picked for date night but man! Thava was oozing flavours that we turned back to give it a try.

What a great decision! Fresh food. Great portions and some of the lightest and tasty naan I've ever had and a true delight!

Service was exceptional and the 'cooking cart bar' up front is a touch of street that should be adopted by more restaurants in Monte.

Well done, ill be back to try the crab curry and tandoori chicken we saw being served which also looked and smelled exceptional.

Next stop in our Food Journey is Thava Indian Restaurant located in the most elegant Monte Casino, Fourways, Sandton in sunny Johannesburg. A very elegantly setup establishment surrounded by hustle and bustle of Monte Casino. Amazing decor with peppy Indian background music. Our first milestone here was the chilli chicken and boy o boy was it chilli despite asking it to be made mild! I was spewing spice for the next 3 days! Spicy but delicious. Our next mile stone was the Mutton Rogan Josh, Daal Tadka with Rumali roti and boiled rice. The curries were a perfect blend of spices and flavors however the rice was not up to par.

The service was fast however for a restaurant in a setup like this where a meal would cost you your left kidney, food plates were literally thrown on the table like its done on a road side cafe in India. No finesse or elegance in the service for an elegantly setup restaurant.

All in all we would give this trip a 3.5 star experience!

Wow! what a wonderful night at Thava Monte Casino. I've been to many other Thava branches, but this branch outshines the rest. The friendliest waiter, and though it was busy, we had minimal waiting time for our food, which arrived hot, fresh and delicious. The food cannot compare to other Thava branches, so authentic, so flavourful, a real Indian experience. Only letdown was our table, which was outside the restaurant and had alot of foot traffic because it was busy, but no hassle. I will definitely come back to this specific Thava branch in future! ????

Starters were Lovely.
Main meals also delicious.
Absolutely enjoyed the dinner and the evening out.

I had a truly first class experience at Thava Indian Restaurant.

The staff are warm and welcoming upon arrival and maintained their high standard of service throughout the evening.

Our Table ordered 5 different main courses, with various side dishes and dessert. Every dish was absolutely exceptional.

In terms of drinks, they have an extensive drinks menu and all is very reasonably priced, including wine.

These high standards for food, staff and atmosphere were maintained despite the restaurant being full to capacity.

Their success is due to two things in my view:
1) Their menu is consistently delicious and well priced for the standard (not cheap but very fair). We spent approximately R250 per person including drinks and starters
2) They value feedback like not seen before. At the end of the evening they even include a feedback form.

I highly recommend a night out at Thava Indian Restaurant Montecasino.

P.S. Definitely phone ahead to book a table to avoid disappointment

Great food (India has figured spices out). Great staff. Great atmosphere. Had the Lamb Biryani. My taste buds thanked me.
