To be fair, you really can't ask for a better venue for a day out in Stellenbosch to spend in good company in a wonderful environment.

The venue caters for adults with a wide selection in terms of wine tasting as well as for children with the extensive play area.

The food is of good quality, but to be honest, the star was the table service staff who nail down the attentive/private service balance perfectly - that alone is worth a star.

There is ample parking and the venue also allows people to picnic on their own - which was good to see.

On pricing, let's be fair: If you are coming out here, you're not expecting fast food pricing - of course there are generous portions, but on the downside, for this experience, it would be nice if the kitchen could compromise somewhat on the menu customisation.

Still, great venue, a bit pricey, but you'll enjoy the experience.

Blaauwklippen in Stellenbosch is a lovely wine farm. It has vendors selling various things like clothes, jewellery, sweets, household items and other things that you would get at a more upmarket market. The food stalls selling burgers, shwarmas, savory bites and then there's the sweet things area. A chicken schwarma costs R80 and lamb/steak mixed is R90. A burger is anything from R80 up to about R120. The food is not bad at all. Only gripe I had is that they DO NOT TAKE CASH. So for every transaction you must pay by card...we made six transactions. Burger, shwarmas, iced tea, beer and something from the sweets/dessert area. I understand Covid happened, money safety, etc, etc. But I prefer working with cash...just my opinion. So 6 x bank charges! Just saying. We not all millionaires. There's a lovely kiddies play area too. You can sit on the grass and eat but take something to sit on. Not a bad space for relaxing chilling Sunday afternoon.

This should not be advertised as a craft market - it has become a foodie market instead. A good range of food and beverage stalls with a variety of styles and tastes on offer. However none of the stalls are allowed to take cash - resulting is missed sales opportunities. Good seating areas to sit and chill, eat and drink and listen to the music. However the music provided was poor and certainly did not tempt people to linger longer. This market seems to have lost it's way.

The Market was really nice. No duplication at the various vendors. The Gin pairing was absolutely devine and thr Restaurants food was pretty good

I'm sorry to say but very disappointing. It's a wine farm and there was not a drop of white wine bar the bubbly. They were out of stock of both still and sparkling water. The smoked salmon was finished.....we shared the Mediterranean platter. The bread was so thinly cut I think they were running out of that as well. The amount of cheese served was minimal. We filled up on the plentiful pickles. There were plenty of delicious blueberries though. The staff were great. I'm sorry to say I was highly disappointed and would not recommend this venue. Not a good representation for the overseas guests I took there. My impression was that Blaauwklippen is in deep financial trouble.
