Takes their time getting to your order but they still deliver. I decided to test the among of oil they use in Platter For One having everything fried, they did excellently in giving it a fresh crumbed taste without excess oil, especially with the fried hake portion which is served with its own special sauce, no extra oil ran into it that I could see...

Great people and managing staff who were very welcoming and interactive with us as customers and the sushi is A must have .

Food was great. The building inside is very run down, mucky and unkept.
In desperate need of a fresh coat of paint and a really good clean. Tables aren't cleared for quite a while after guests have left. Atmosphere is cold and rather unwelcoming. Staff was great and enjoyed the food

I have eaten at a lot of OB before, but this branch was NOT up to standard.
- we entered the restaurant no one was there to greet (only 1 table occupied with customers)
- we walked in, right through to the bar at the end, no manager greeted, no one even took notice of us besides 1 guy in his private clothes who then took us to a table. Gave us the menu, changed into his uniform and took our order. The waiter really tried his best to give us a super service.he did get tipped well.
-as I said only 1 other table, when our food arrived it was cold.
-2 managers on shift, but half of the tables not set, even after 40 min no one really did anything including managers who drank coffee watching sports or on their cell phones.
-after dinner I went outside for a smoke, waiters then stood and waited to greet customers, however he was playing with his phone while bringing customers to the table
-everything was untidy unorganized and just not pleasant. Food not to Ocean basket standard.
Clearly a management problem !! Very disappointing dinner.

Nice cozy restaurant with kids play area. Their family platter definitely caters for my whole family (2 adults and 4 kids) which i think is value for money. Just be prepared to wait a bit for your freshly prepared food.

Food is okay...been there twice since I generally LOVE Ocean Basket...but both service and food is a far cry from what I am accustomed to in Durban. My daughter studying at Stellenbosch...went there on her birthday...mentioned twice to the staff that it was my daughter's birthday...not even a happy birthday song for my baby girl. Yet in Durban we are treated like royalty on birthdays at ANY Ocean Basket! Place is clean and well-maintained. Needs more atmosphere though...ambience

Slow service, manager nowhere to be found, food wasn't what we ordered, birds in the restaurant, no salt on table, we didn't have the wooden placemats on the table. Waiter didn't seem to be bothered with our table. We wanted sushi for starters and the waiter said but we can't order sushi because the chef is on lunch and he doesn't know when the chef will return. Very disappointed
