Department of Home Affairs Office Welkom

Good day

I don't understand the service at Welkom home affairs, its really bad, a line for collection that is longer and doesn't move at all, it makes me wonder what is happening, it doesn't move at all, its been a week trying to collect my passport. Clients that stands in line for long hours at a time, some of the people get there early as 5am to get attended to but at around 1pm, they are still in the line and not receive any sort of attendance at all, I don't know if the employees there are working or busy chatting the entire working hours. You get inside, they are busy with their phones while clients are waiting and when you complain, you get attitude from the employees, something has to change, that's a government institution where people shouldn't spend days on end for simple things.

Service extremely poor waited for 6 hours without help...system is continuously offline it was offline on Friday 13 May and still offline today 16 May . This seriously need an intervention these people don't even care. They are just slacking ????.

Been waiting for 4 and a half hours. Moved 15m from where we started the que. Not going to be enough time to help everyone here before thier 15h30 close time.

Service is pathetic......waited 4 hours in line to collect and ID.....only to get to the front of the outside line and being told the office are closed and we must return the next day.
Day 2......for the past 2 hours NOTHING is happening. How long does the 1st 10 people who entered at 08:00 take to COLLECT ID or Passport???

Everyone is friendly except the lady at the door( not the security officer but the ticket lady)it’s my first good experience at a home affairs office keep it up shame I recommend

Service is very poor , have been waiting for my ID since last year December, I continuously have to make temporary Identities which is a lot of money, I don't even want to get started on the issue of the computers being offline the whole day, everyday.
Something's gotta be done about this office????

Similar experience to any government department. I arrived at 8am on a Friday and left at 12. Expect to wait outside for at least 2 hours even if you arive early. Add another 2 hours of waiting inside. You just have to prepare yourself mentally. Also, I could not pay with my card at the cashier which forced me to go outside agian to withdraw money. Luckily I skipped the line to make the payment.
