I have never been so disgusted with any wine tasting/farm service in my life. When my fiancé and I got there the service was already off putting. Not even a greeting. When we asked for the menu it was handed to us with little to no care. After having a look, and deciding we’ll have a go at the food no guidance was provided on whether we can have a seat or not. We asked for a seat and were sent in two directions. When we chose a seat the waiter asked us if we won’t rather want to move to a different seat. We went to have a look and the table was excessively large. Once we were seated again he asked us for another time if we don’t want to rather move somewhere else. He handed us one menu in the process and suddenly engaged in conversation with other staff leaving us unattended to. After almost a full day of exploring the wine lands area, this was by far the most disappointing experience in over 17 years at a restaurant in the area.

Google said this closes at 9pm. We arrived at 5:15. The gate let us in but when we got out of our Uber everyone was very rude and said they were already closed. No one offered us anything even though we had travelled there specifically.

3 stars for setting and layout. The venue in general could use an upgrade on loungers and dining furniture overall, a bit outed dated. In terms of the layout, it’s not quite an aesthetic experience when it feels like you’re having a wine tasting in a parking lot and not on a beautiful wine farm that breeds world class horses. This unfortunately left me disappointed when arriving at the venue after driving an hour to get to the farm.

The red wines were great and staff very friendly.

The atmosphere and wine were great but the food was very disappointing and overpriced for what we got. We had the kingklip and the fish was rubbery with no flavour. The vegetables were clearly boiled and mushy. Over all a disappointing meal. The waitress was helpful but the food was late. No her fault

Attended a work function of about 60 guests.
Wonderful venue with very hospitable hosts.
Food was excellent and the staff are friendly and quick but also unobtrusive.
Was a great event on all levels.

Worth experiencing the wine tasting at the Avontuur wine tasting venue and the Avontuur restaurant. Don't stop yourself from going! Value for money, food is definitely well-made and amazing staff! Thank you Othelene, our waitress for providing us with such exceptional service and the manager constantly checking in on us... impeccable service and food to tantalize your tastebuds... love for amazing food

Loved the fudge u0026 nougat tasting! Unfortunately understaffed and the service took way to long! Should definitely get more staff for the tasting room.
