Unbelievable experience, sublime food. This is a tasting menu restaurant and I am so glad it is. It allows the chefs to really plan ahead, use the ingredients they want and not worry about wastage or daily order variations. I could not find fault with this restaurant. I loved every dish. Each course was expertly balanced in flavour and texture and the service was fantastic. We celebrated a friend's birthday and I could not imagine a better place to do so. Thank you so much Beast Team.

Lovely gem in downtown.

This restaurant makes it really simple for you. They have a set menu that as I understand changes once a month and that is the only menu with a flat fee. Your only choice is If you do a wine pairing or order a seperate drink.

Overall the food was delicious the place was packed and had a lovely atmosphere.

Highly recommended for foodies and great value for the price

Absolutely amazing Lunch me and my best friend popped in for lunch and it was absolutely amazing. The food was a culinary journey and our taste buds were sent on a rollercoaster of senses and pleasures at one point actually had goosebumps. Friendly and attentive staff with the level of service from the highest caliber the openness of the restaurant ads to a sense of being included in the crafting of the meals. A must for any self discerning foodie pop in sit down and enjoy the journey.

Such an amazing and different dining experience. I'm not a particularly adventurous eater, but I loved each course. The staff were all very professional. Each course was explained to us as the dish arrived. I think it was a six course meal, I lost track. I would highly recommend this for an experience.

Simply incredible! Finely tuned flavours, colours, and textures develop like an orchestral symphony from one course to the next. Belly of the Beast is a masterpiece.
With a menu refresh just about every month, this is one Cape Town culinary experience that you can return to again and again, and you can be assured that it will never disappoint.
Six courses, plus a delightful appetizer, a palette cleansing sorbet mid-meal, and an extra little treat at the end, means this is one taster menu that will leave you yearning for more, but you certaimly won't have any space to put it.

Choosing wine at a Woolworths, a stranger suddenly started helping me with my choice. Proudly said her daughter knew a lot about wine. She’s the chef/owner of Belly Of The Beast she announced. Well those wines were so good I had to try Belly Of The Beast. The bookings were like 3 weeks out so by the time we arrived there for a Sat lunch we were so ready! Unfortunately the owner wasn’t there that day to tell my wine/mother story to. But the experience there was just delightful. From the moment you walk in you can tell that every single thing in this place has been chosen for a specific reason. From the cutlery to the glasses to the artwork there is some serious taste here. But the waiters are also chefs, or vice versa, it seems. After cooking a dish they come out to introduce it to you. Cool concept. As for the food it was just awesome. A tasting menu and somewhat experimental in a fun way. Meaning you might not love every dish, but when you’re sharing that can work out well. My wife didn’t care for one dish, but I loved it and there was one I didn’t love too much that she liked. So it worked out well. The only weird thing that happened was my wife was so enjoying mopping up a sauce with their wonderful homemade bread, that she asked for another piece. To which they replied that there was no more. Odd. Although we didn’t do the wine pairing, all four glasses as we had were excellent wines. All in all I can highly recommend this place. It’s a little quirky, but that’s what I love about it.

We discovered this hidden gem in 2018/2019. Since then it has become an annual visit. With friends scattered around the globe it simply is the best place to break bread together.
Everything is exceptional. Thank you
