I went to Bootleggers today with my colleagues. We were there at about 9h40 and the place wasn’t that busy.

We ordered our drink and when they arrived they were not piping hot but more warm. However I did enjoy my chai latte.

We ordered our foods, which came out at a decent time. The buttermilk flapjacks was not a hit. It was too thick, floury and so little golden syrup. Definitely not light and fluffy as you would expect.

Also got the cheese and tomato sandwich, which was average. I also ordered chips on the side, some were very over done. Having ordered chips no one offers you sauce, which most places do especially if it’s not on the table. Eventually they bring the sauce in a gravy jug when asked.

The croissant breakfast rolls were good and enjoyable. They were a decent size and filling.

My experience was not excellent. But I would like to return and give Bootleggers another chance to redeem themselves.

Nice scenery, nice design, reasonable prices, seals playing in front. Food quite good, although menu limited to rather basic stuff - brunch, breakfast, coffe stuff. Service rather slow.

A lovely place to go to after visiting the aquarium. Great service and the best view of the beautiful table mountain. It also has a lovely playground for children. The menu offers not only coffee and drinks, but all sorts of food that'll make your mouth water

My 5 year old and I went to the aquarium. Popped into Bootlegger for a bite to eat. Now admittedly I have been to the Bootlegger in Century City a few times and it's not a franchise I would normally go to with my kids, but this specific Bootlegger next to the aquarium is quite kid friendly and has some nice outdoor seating.

My daughter had kids chicken strips which were really nice and the portion was generous. I even asked if the waitress was sure its a kids portion.

I did a DIY breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken sausage and sourdough bread.

My only criticism, and this is across the entire franchise is that I prefer my coffee in a proper mug.

We were recently on our honeymoon in Cape Town and passed by after visiting the aquarium. The service we received from Selwyn Bibby was so amazing, funny, genuine and kind that we ended up coming back another 2 times during our week-long holiday just because of him. I would really like to commend Selwyn for his outstanding service and wonderful, friendly nature. Bootlegger is now a highlighted memory for us during our honeymoon and it's all because of the experience that Selwyn gave us. He went all the extra miles to make us feel special and even had a little farewell treat for us on our last day. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant for the experience and views, and the food was pretty good too.

Popped in at this branch and enjoyed coffee, hot chocolate and a tasty hot breakfast of Peri peri chicken livers. Perfect for a cold morning. I could keep an eye on the kids in the play area whilst having the meal. The service was prompt and friendly. The meal was hot and the coffee perfectly extracted. I will be back.
