Very good easy, hassle-free experience going for a B1/B2 VISA application. Was in and out within an hour. Queues move quickly and are manageable. Not overcrowded. Staff are helpful and friendly. Consular officers are chilled and the questions asked seemed conversational. They really just wanna get to know you. Parking isn't allowed on site so either have someone drop you off or park at Steenberg Village (free parking) and walk up to the consulate.

From the moment you get there you are made to feel welcome. The appointment system means that queues are kept manageable. The whole process through security is a pleasant interaction.

Getting through the actual visa appointment process is also a rather smooth sailing affair. The people there are friendly and professional.

All in all.... Top notch service.

US Tourist visa process was smooth, despite only being able to get an interview months after my online application. Upon arrival at the Consulate, everything was hassle-free and 2 days later, I had my US visa in hand. Considering the timeframe I was given was 2-3 weeks, I am beyond impressed.

I read through some the reviews that were posted more than 2 years ago and based on my experience I can with conviction state that the admin personnel there are still terribly rude and disrespectful when dealing with them. Particular mention to the staff member that I interacted with before my interview who had no business shouting at me for bringing too much paperwork along with me - this was my first time applying for a US visa and I merely wanted to be prepared. This individual made me feel unwelcome and patronised. Professionalism, courtesy and manners is not too much to ask for.

The backlog is there, but don’t expect clients to pay for a service and not provide some solution. Whatever is being done (hiring extra staff), is clearly not working. If this is the case then adjust your visa process, waiting so long is unacceptable. In addition to the backlog, the officials are unprofessional u0026 really not helpful. Miscommunication u0026 when you do eventually get to speak with someone, you are treated badly. As clients are expected to take this backlog u0026 practice “patience”, remember the clients on the other end.

Impossible to get an appointment in Cape Town or JHB before 2023, yet the R2500 I've paid the embassy is non refundable. My trip is in October 2022 so effectively, I've paid R2500 with no ability to actually get my visa before my trip. Why accept applications if there is no capacity to schedule appointments. Very dissapointing.

came from eastern cape the 8th for my holiday visa appointment the 11th, me and my daughter had a horrible horrible experience,got denied after 5 questions in basically 2 min the questions where basic and i answer it honestly,they didn’t even ask for any supporting documentation, like work papers,bank statements, my strong ties in south africa, my invitation letter from my friend in usa nothing but accuses me of wanting to go there and not going to come back!..i’m like whattt are you kidding me????? you didn’t even look at my paperwork???? and the best is i can’t appeal and show them i got all the supporting documents but i’m good enough to apply again and pay…looks like you must have property just to go on a holiday to visit a friend for 2 weeks..it’s crazy,i worked hard for almost 2 years for this appointment opportunity..,i’m very disappointed
