Its been a while so returned to Fred and Max for their Wednesday night - Burger night. Made a booking beforehand and the booking was taken proficiently, we arrived and were greeted in a friendly manor wishing us well for the New Year. We had great burgers at reasonable prices, the wine and soft drinks were also reasonably priced. The decor I felt needed a little more colour and the table was a little small for 4, but certainly didn't make our evening any less enjoyable or the food any less tasty. The wait staff are great as is the food and we will certainly be back soon.

A cosy restaurant that serves great coffee, decent breakfasts, drool worthy burgers and a few other bits and pieces. They are open some nights of a the week with live music, quiz competitions and the like. One of my regular breakfast spots.

Fred and Max is a hidden gem located in Somerset West. From the parking lot you may need to look twice to find it tucked away in the corner. But once found, you won't be disappointed.

A hipster's paradise; offering great food, leather satchels and craft beer. The falafel burger and cheesecake were superb.

I remember when Fred u0026 Max first started and it is so wonderful to have watched it grow, change and flourish. From the beginning up til present day, first off I would like to say that out of all the years I had not even one single complaint about the coffee. Every time I go, I have a coffee, which never dissapoints me, me being a fully trained ex barista with quite a few years of experience. To me, that is one reason why I would specifically go to Fred u0026 Max , because I would crave their coffee and it just really hits the spot. When it comes to their food, albeit a tad pricey at times, also does not dissapoint and they cater for kids as well, which is always a plus. Their menu and dishes are quite unique and have little details and finishing touches that make most of the dishes an experience, if you haven't had a certain dish there before, and then you have it for the first time, it will not be something that tastes like any other restaurant. In that way, the price becomes worth it because each dish is a special experience. The atmosphere could do with a bit more work, for example making it less cold and clean cut and more comfortable. I won't go into details there, as I am aware that they are currently undergoing some changes. So I am looking forward to seeing what progress has been made, the next time I go there. Fred u0026 Max isn't just about the coffee. They serve a wide variety of drinks from raw juices to shakes, smoothies, and typical general drinks. They have a wonderful wine menu and a lovely selection of quality wines which can fit into a different type of occasion for some customers, they serve other drinks as well, unfortunately no cocktails but I check and suggest every time I go for drinks with a friend. They allow smoking outside at certain tables, which is so awesome. If you have not yet been to Fred and Max, do yourself a favor and go . You'll enjoy it!
