This place and the manager Fred and his wife rocks! Such good u0026 friendly persons, helpfull, amuzing and good to talk to. Helps all he can. Parking right in front of the house and it's for free. Easy going neighbourhood and restaurants right around the corner.
The room we had was big and colourfull. Good shower and a blanket heater, yesss!
Kitchenette downstairs. Chill-out in the front. Can't go wrong in this place.

Fred, the manager, is super helpful and friendly. The house is pet friendly. Very well located and central. Walking distance to Woolies, spar, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants.

The House on the hill is the best location for any tourist to book their accommodation in capetown since it's located in the safest district Greenpoint, has a baz bus stop pick up point, and conveniently situated near the Vu0026A waterfront, city sightseeing bus and spar. It's a 5 minute walk to a nearby rapid Covid 19 test with travel certificate for 850 rand. You can do your diy walking tour of the downtown area on the left or the seapoint on the right. It takes about 18 minutes of walking for both destinations. The host is welcoming and the place is peaceful at night. Be sure to come home by 11pm which is the current curfew inline with covid restrictions. There is a well equipped kitchen with washing machine, a courtyard, balcony, hot shower, warm bed and free wifi.

Lovely small guest house in excellent, safe and quiet location, very helpful owner (Claudi from Germany), gorgeous fresh breakfast products incl real bread/ rolls, fruits and muesli. Rooms are very clean and in bright colours, individually equipped with all you need. Only the bathroom is rather small (room no 5). Excellent and quick communication. Strongly recommend.

Love this place. Amazing, friendly people that run the place. Central to everything. The vibes were great. I miss that bench outside.

Staying at house on the hill was an OK experience overall. The facilities are average and so is the service. The location is very good, as it’s a 10 min walk to the waterfront and taxis (public vans) can be found just down the road. What we didn’t like about it was cleanness. As it claims to be an upmarket backpackers, room service could definitely be improved. We stayed there for 6 nights and our bathroom was only “properly cleaned” once during our stay. It also advertises that there is a TV in the room, of which only one channel works and the tea station was lacking care as the coffee was expired and the tea tastes awful. Having a nice courtyard, our intention was to make a lovely braai one evening but after seeing the state of the grill and the need to clean it before use, we changed plans. Furthermore, perhaps investing in a new coffee plunger would be beneficial for the house as having to share one(the other one was broken) amongst various rooms was creating friction between guests. It’s a very basic backpackers.
