Great hike from the aerial tram exit. Plan for an hour each way. Rocky sections can be a bit hard on the knees Small section with chain support!

Started from Platteklip Gorge starting point and made my way up to the very highest point of Table Mountain. From the top of Platteklip Gorge to Maclears Beacon is a flat comfortable hike suitable for all ages. Take in the beauty that is Table Mountain.

This place has the best views. It takes 1 hour to walk from the cable car or 3 hours from Kirstenbosch via skeleton gorge. From here you can see both sides Capetown and robben island. It's well worth a visit, the walk from the cable car is flat and easy to walk for most.

We did a 3 hour hike around the top of the table mountain with our guide for the day Tim Lundy. He was very knowledgeable and able to point out various features, plants, wildlife etc that we would never have known about. If you have the time, then do more than just go up in the cable car and walk around the small area at the top and return. There are some great walks up there which you can take, but do be prepared because the weather can change rapidly or use a guide like Tim who I would not hesitate to recommend.

Just one thing, we ended up in a queue for tickets for the cable car for 2 hours. So get your tickets in advance and if you do have to queue, then get one of your party to get the tickets whilst the rest of the party wait in the queue.

It’s the highest point on Table Mountain and from there one can choose an alternate route instead of hiking back in the opposite direction you came from. Also a good place to take some photos.

On top of Cape Town - highest point of Table Mountain. Lovely walk from the cable-car station and back. I am gobsmacked by the views every time I visit the place. Cape Town is not a place - it's a passion!
