Clean trails and felt very safe. Experience was good. The hike itself is pretty hard for a beginners with lots of trail runners. This trail is free for for all however parking can be a issue if you start late.

The forest is pretty cool. Lots of diverse paths for different difficulties. Seems like it would be great to look for mushrooms. It would be advised to go to the lavatory before you go there... The latrines are public... Anyway, this would be a great place to take a lover/friends for a walk or picnic if you really wished.

Very nice forest walk, one can explore a multitude of trails. Lots of people out with their dogs and kids, some trail runners were around. Great nature smells.

Forest air, beautiful tranquil surrounds with some flora species not found anywhere else in the world.
Many hike options to choose from, with exit routes all the way along.
Will sheltered and a fair amount of water on this side of the mountain.

Our second walk here. It was fun and clean. I think it is quite well maintained and lots of shade and walking options. The walks are not too strenuous and good for kids. I'll definately walk here again. Great family outing.

Newlands Forest is the most convenient way to experience the wonders of Cape Town's outdoors. The trails are relatively flat, with some variety by choice. Parking is easy and plentiful. There are lots of dogs, families, trail runners and mushroom hunters. I recommend going around sunset for the beautiful lighting which shimmers through the canopy of the pine trees.

An exceptional forest walk experience, each time. So many trails, trees, birds and beauty in every direction. Pack water, a jacket, snacks and loo paper (one facility right at the start)
