This is a really lovely park but the prices depicted on the internet is incorrect. It's actually more than indicated. However, as they only take cash we had to struggle to find a bank to draw money. Not really the best experience... But the park itself is beautiful. Braai areas and trails to go hike.

Weather was gorgeous, and the braai areas were good. Nice green grass for the kids to play or for having a picnic. Unfortunately the ablution facilities were awful. Toilets had no flushing water, so they were clogged with toilet paper, which was absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper (bring your own) and no soap in the dispensers at the sinks either.

Looking for a place to relax and have a braai (BBQ for foreigners)? You must make a stop here.

You will find braai areas under trees in various locations. There are seats around the braai area as well as a table.

There are ablution facilities available.

The sites are well maintained and tidy.

Definately worth a visit.

This is my second time here at Newlands picnic site....what a safe environment never over crowded it's safe for the kids and we as adults enjoy it too.i must add that the toilets r very clean and there's always toilet paper

We spent the day at the picnic and braai area. Gets full and limited braai areas available.
Get there early. Entry is R31.00 per adult children under 11 is free and the vehicle cost is R28.00.
Opens at 8am and closes at 18:00pm.

Toilets and general area is well kept and very clean. Public respect the space and dont play music loudly or get rowdy.

Great for hiking,walking, Normal picnicking and site seeing and general family days. Don't walk alone. Suggest a group of 3 Adults minimum.
