The best lunch downtown. The selection changes everyday so I'm not sure if I should describe my lunch in detail. There were 3 protein choices and about 8 salads. I had sumac chicken and the stuffed aubergine, a Greek salad, sauteed potatoes, and a lentil salad. All excellent. The carrot cake we couldn't resist was outstanding!!!!! Leave room for dessert even if you have to share.

Brilliant salads - best in Cape Town.
I have had poor salads with good mains in restaurants and these guys totally nailed it.... I hope they share their expertise with some of the 'high end' establishments because it was amazing.
Well thought our, seasoned, dressed and complimentary to their available protein options.

The General Store did the catering at my party. Their canapes were absolutely top notch..every guest raved about them! In addition, the two ladies that prepared the canapes at my house were absolutely amazing - so professional, and went above and beyond to help me at the party. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Something to be said about owner run stores. Especially when the product is the owners passion. The General Store is the best food at the best value. Absolute gem of the mother City.

Ok so I only found this little hole-in-the-wall yesterday and I’ve only had a latte, but I’ve already been back for seconds… this is probably the best coffee I’ve had in Cape Town, great service and delish looking food. Looking forward to heading back and trying the rest of the store!
