This is a paradoxical venue. The beautiful setting, divine food, stunning table setups, and friendly service are five star - absolutely gorgeous. There is even a nice little box of soaps and bathbombs waiting for you in the room. Even the main construction seems great. But the finer points are badly lacking, and deserve only one star. A few serious problems: we were part of a bridal party and slept over. 1. At a full priced room, both the aircon and fridge were not working - the worst is that all the staff knew about this, thus it must have been a problem for a while. We changed rooms, but it simply became someone else's problem. 2. There was a power problem. Power was eventually restored (limited) to only the actual reception room. There were no candles placed on outside walkways or anywhere else - we eventually did this ourselves from the table candles. At the end of the party, power was routed to the main rooms only, none at all to the separate house. I do not know how everyone found their way back there. As a premium venue and in a country with serious power problems, it baffles me how there is no solid power backup system in place. 3. Some finishings in the room are terrible. In our (second) room, the tie back hook pulled totally out of the wall. The curtains are cheap and made at China town with the big metal hooks and huge plastic jewels to prove it. There was not even a finishing strip where the bedroom carpet met the bathroom tiles, so an ugly frayed carpet end was really obvious. 4. No one seemed to have hot water the entire day and night? 5. There is a mulberry bush just as you step off the ceremony area - needless to say we are all still soaking dresses and scrubbing shoes to try get out the stains.
Overall, a really difficult place to rate! I honestly cannot recommend or not recommend it.
