By far the best place to stay in Ballito!
Super friendly and helpful staff and a lot of other laid-back people to hang out with.
Especially loved the green campsite and the well equipped communal kitchen.

My daughter u0026 I held our own personal camp at the Afro Tented Unit. Monkeybay is perfectly located. The sound of the sea while we fell asleep, was so peaceful. The wind blowing our tent , it’s n experience that I’m willing to relive when the rest of my friends head to the coast these holidays. Our host, Lifa, was absolutely welcoming n entertaining ????

Quircky with soul had a wonderful time staff and mike go out of their ways to make your stay an exellant one, with surrounding forest life, trees, monkies, mongoose, and franklin just makes you feel you still in nature even though you not. Thanks again for everything

We had an amazing stay at the Monkey Bay Backpackers lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful and were definitely the best part of the stay.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and have a great feel. The kitchen is well stocked for self catering and the vibe is friendly and relaxed.

Can't wait for our next visit.

What an extraordinary stay! From arrival until departure we had spectacular service. The staff is polite and always willing to help. Mike and the team made us feel very welcome from day one. Great atmosphere and very neat. I'll go back to Monkey bay any day!

Monkey Bay Backpackers is the best place to go to if you're planning on having a very laid back vacation.
The vibe there is so cheerful and carefree, it is the holiday anyone dreams about.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful in every aspect and they always make sure that everything is up to standard when it comes to your room and your experience staying there.
You could either camp, dorm or stay in a room for two. Bathrooms and showers are provided outside of most of the rooms, but are very private and are very clean.
It is self-catering and there is a central kitchen which provides a fridge, stove, dining table, cutlery and crockery as well as all the spices and garnishing under the sun.
There are many places within the property where you can "hangout" and braai for the day/night.

Monkey Bay Backpackers is definitely a place I am returning to in the future.
