We camped at this resort for a second time since 2018 but now on stand 40 from May to July on the monthly Pensioners package. Good value for money based on the following:
Security at the gate is strict in applying access control and security patrols in the resort give you immediate peace of mind when entering the resort.
Access is a fairly good tarred road.
Roads inside the resort are mainly cement and in good condition.
Stands differ in size but overall big enough for caravan with tents without intruding on neighbours. There are no elevated paved stands at the top and back parks but the beachfront park stands are fitted with blocks of artificial grass. The latter is not available for the same monthly tariff as the top and back park stands and therefore excluded from this review.
Stands are fairly level, mostly covered with grass with some sand patches. All are mostly covered by coconut trees that do shed whole leaves and coconuts which can damage RV's and cars. This must be kept in mind when putting up camp.
Electric points are easy accessible, but water taps are centrally placed farther from some and very near to other stands.
Fixed braais is not available and you must supply your own which are cleaned daily by resort personnel.
Personnel and management are hospitable and helpful in every way they can. Regular visits by Lionel to campers enhance communication and make the stay so much more enjoyable.
Water pressure and availability of hot water is excellent and constant.
We experienced a bit of irritation as we chose a stand next to Basil Hulett drive where minibus taxi drivers are hooked on hooting during the day time. However during the night the road is quieter.
Each park have an ablution which consist of a bath for the ladies as well as showers, toilets, basins and wheelchair friendly facilities. The same with the mens' but without a bath. There's ample space to wash dishes. All these facilities are kept clean and hygiene is a high priority.
Porta Pot stations is available at each ablution.
There are token operated washing machines and tumble dryers available.
During so-called load shedding backup generators immediately come online.
There is no on site shop but a supermarket is within walking distance from the resort.
The hotel next door do offer pensioner's specials at the restaurant.
Swimming pool at the hotel and kiddies play area are clean and well maintained.
Supermarkets, other restaurants and shops are all a short drive from the resort.
Vervet monkeys are present and come daily through camp. To prevent damage, all food, especially fruit, must always be locked away.
Cell phone and mobile data (wifi) reception was excellent at our stand.
Limited free wifi is available on request at the hotel restaurant.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort and will return if we are on the north coast of KZN.
