I love visiting the sunken gardens. This wknd it was very busy and loud. But we found a small spot to have a quick picnic.

It's a beautiful garden to stroll through and take pictures. It sits between the beach and the Southern Sun Elangeni hotel. It is well maintained. There's ramps leading down to the garden so it's wheelchair accessible.

Dirty and run down, could be so much more. Rather visit the Durban Botanic Gardens

Lovely gardens and for the most parts it's well kept.
The water was green and murky, which attracted many mosquitoes.

This is a very clean and well looked after park but there are no shelter especially when it is sunny. People have parties, picnics and weddings there.

The sunken gardens at durbans beach front is truely beautiful. The summer flowers are an absolute delight together with the mixture of indigenous plants. The old slate and timber structures together with a beautiful circular pond makes for a really picture perfect moment. The mosaic work just adds the finishing touches to durbans colourful history. Gay friendly which is great.
