I am absolutely taken aback by how rude the manager Shalen Manda was. Instead of being accommodating and recognising that the communication from the telephone booking was not specific about the time he was so rude.
I arrived around 6pm near the parking of the building with my family. Then took time to find parking and do covid compliance. I then arrived to be told my table has been given to someone else. This was exactly at 18.30. When I did the booking no one told me I had to be at the restaurant exactly at 6pm when I did the booking. In fact I was instead informed the buffet goes from 6pm to around 9pm, when I asked about time specifics. At this point no one told me that of I don't arrive exactly at 6pm that my table would be given away. For R395 per head the de-escalation skills are sub par.
This is the worst restaurant experience I have had until Nontando Ndlovu assisted with turning the tables around. The food and hospitality was saved by not the manager (which is his job) but by the friendliness of the restaurant staff, chefs, waitors and waitresses.
The food was great, however some items could be improved such as overcooking and freshness of fish.
Although the overall experience didn't turn out so poorly, I will keep the rating at 1 star because of the way my booking was handled.
