We went there on the 14 July ‘22 for my husband’s birthday,the staff was great and welcoming. The food was delicious lots of variety to choose from. I think big companies book the hotel for their staff cos I saw many people wearing uniforms. So the ambiance is not so great ???????? for a formal dinner as it gets a bit noisy. The prices are steep, R385 for adults R200 for children.

A wonderful experience that l can't wait to repeat. The variety on offer is truly staggering and all the dishes are well seasoned and delicious. There is a something for everyone's tastes, and the dessert selection is a winner. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the restaurant is relatively small, the tables close together u0026 the lines snake among the tables. Almost impossible to social distance. Best to go during off peak times but it's a must to experience. Definitely value for money.

The experience was amazing, the food was fresh, juicy and tasty. I would highly recommend the buffet dinner at Southern Sun Lingela. What an awesome way to end Women's day. Chef Keldon and the team you really made my visit special.

I am absolutely taken aback by how rude the manager Shalen Manda was. Instead of being accommodating and recognising that the communication from the telephone booking was not specific about the time he was so rude.

I arrived around 6pm near the parking of the building with my family. Then took time to find parking and do covid compliance. I then arrived to be told my table has been given to someone else. This was exactly at 18.30. When I did the booking no one told me I had to be at the restaurant exactly at 6pm when I did the booking. In fact I was instead informed the buffet goes from 6pm to around 9pm, when I asked about time specifics. At this point no one told me that of I don't arrive exactly at 6pm that my table would be given away. For R395 per head the de-escalation skills are sub par.

This is the worst restaurant experience I have had until Nontando Ndlovu assisted with turning the tables around. The food and hospitality was saved by not the manager (which is his job) but by the friendliness of the restaurant staff, chefs, waitors and waitresses.

The food was great, however some items could be improved such as overcooking and freshness of fish.

Although the overall experience didn't turn out so poorly, I will keep the rating at 1 star because of the way my booking was handled.

It was a nightmare come true, there's too many unnecessary people loitering outside the hotel waiting on their prey passing comments as we walking to the hotel. We had to park a mile away and walk another mile to our destination, finally when we found a parking, we took the lift to the buffet area and apon jumping out the lift a group of black woman asked my self and my wife to get out of the lift as they are in a hurry, we found that to be very rude and racist! The buffet area was a total circus. It was my wife's birthday and it suppose to be a special night but our experience at Elangeni was a total disaster. How does 1 return to this hotel or restaurant? We always pictured Elangeni to be a elegant and well established hotel until we got there. 0 stars won't allow me to write a review so you lucky I gave you 1 star. Absolutely disappointed and never will I make the same mistake twice!

An absolute pleasure to dine in. Great variety of dishes. The food never disappoints. The service however is not how it used to be.

Huge buffet offering lunch and dinner. Located inside Southern Sun Elangeni. Many options to choose from. Very meaty menu. Generic pasta, salads and curry vegetarian options offered.

I enjoyed what little vegetables that were on offer and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the meat curries and carvery. There's also a seafood stir fry area offering prawns and fish which was constantly busy. Tea and coffee are included in the buffet.

The washroom facilities are a little bit of a walk away from the restaurant but are still located within the hotel. The floors are highly polished so watch your step too.

Staff were super fast, friendly and helpful and were always around when needed.
