Rooms are very nice ,clean and comfortable.
Service was very professional and fast,even my wake-up call was exactly on the minute, breakfast was delicious with friendly service and never a NO uttered, the hotel is attached to the mall and that makes dinner and a bit of exploration a fun experience. But not noisy at all.

Definitely recommend for a stay in East London.

The rooms are always clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is good. I experienced maintenance issues for the last 2 times I visited. A broken window hinge which left a gaping gap between the window frame and the wall. A broken door lock which could not be fixed. On both occasions I was moved to other rooms. The breakfasts are always good. The food ordered for room service is not always great though.

During the duration of my stay, the place was always clean, my room was clean and comfortable. The foods as well were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I had a 3 day stay at the hotel and with a bit more maintenance and attention to detail it could capture the beauty of East London given that it is well located u0026 enjoys breathtaking views.

I arrived at night and had quite a few bags so I needed to move from the guest parking to the foyer with ease however this was a struggle because the elevator was not working. To inflate the situation, staff were wheeling empty bag trolleys right past me once I reached the drop off area.

Check in was quick and easy, I particularly enjoyed being on the 1st floor which is closer to reception because the door cards deactivate each time there is loadshedding :. Need multiple reactivations.

The queen room is spacious, bed and pillows are extremely comfortable and I love that the Wi-Fi is always on!

Breakfast was good however on the second day we did not enjoy the omelette, it tasted like the cheese was off.
I would recommend their lunch though. The chicken pasta is delicious and the portion is generous.

Lastly, restaurant tables are not well kept and it is common to get seated at a table with no cutlery.

My overall experience was decent and I would go back but I would not be expecting Boardwalk hotel or Table Bay hotel standards although they’re all southern sun hotels.

It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming decor.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is pretty good especially for their prices its 100% worth it.

It’s a beautiful building and share areas look great. The general upkeep looks good. But with attention to detail and tighter management it could be a better experience.

We needed a place to stay in East London on the spur of the moment, so we called Southern Sun Hemingways. The guy in the phone said they hey have rooms available. When we got there within a he hour, we he lady at check-in said all the rooms were taken. She said they had been booked online between the time we called and when we arrived. Upon further questioning the guy who had taken the call next to her said he has been rooms and he booked us in.

The standard room is small. The bed is a double bed. And the room feels small. The flat sheet wasn’t tucked in. And the mattress reminded me of the old school springy beds. It wasn’t the most comfortable sleep. Maybe the other standard rooms are better. Don’t accept 419.

They bathroom had a sulphur-like drain smell at times. Luckily it was one night. I did like the save water sign on the mirror.

Breakfast wasn’t very organized either. No one to seat you or take your room number. I could imagine people coming for free breakfast.
