Staying here is like staying with family. Excellent breakfast and a very homely atmosphere. A real gem in the beautiful town of George

I requested a reservation for 3 rooms for my clients for 1 night on 24 December 2021.
Subsequently the owner Johan emailed me back with a long explanation as to why they were reluctant to book only 1 night during their peak season. I understood his reasoning; however, he agreed to give me the 3 rooms for my clients regardless.
After I had taken the money from my clients and emailed him the names to confirm, I called his wife Madelein to ask if she received my email. She told me that this was a ridiculous booking and that she could not believe her husband agreed to it. Like they were doing me and my clients a favour.
When I asked for confirmation in order to pay, they retracted the reservation.
Clearly they do not need the money.
It is the most shocking service I have received in my 9 years in the travel industry. I had to go back to the clients to advise them of the above. If I could rate them a zero I would.

Lovely old house. Our room was just off the dining room and quite noisy.

Die Waenhuis is a unique and special place to stay. It is filled with details of a bygone era and one should take the time to look at each and every piece of furniture to really appreciate what you have on display.
We stayed in the "Skotskar room" and were basically blown away. It is a huge room with two beds, a sitting area and a beautiful bathroom but you have to see it to believe it.
The owners are very friendly and will gladly chat with you while you enjoy the home made, freshly baked bread, delicious fruits and other tasty items on the menu.
My only regret is not having more time there to investigate all the detail!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Built on a historic home so it's got a lot of old charm. the owners live and run the business so it's well kept. always a fire going in the living room. has a large number of rooms with different decor to suit your taste. walking distance to the city center.

What a beautiful guest house with so much character, perfect vintage interior and the friendliest owners and staff members. Every stay includes a very delicious breakfast with a wide variety of fresh fruits, excellent coffee, traditional breakfast, fresh bread, cheese and cereal all prepared by the owner herself.
