Great views from my large balcony. Room was clean with a few nice amenities. The TV channels were not tuned in properly for the solo traveler who wants to catch up on news or a movie. Restaurant with bar and pool was available on site. Breakfast was nice for an English breakfast. In all I really enjoyed my short stay and will use this hotel again. Perhaps next time I may use the spa if I have more time.

The gardens and pool very well kept. Tranquil to walk morning and evening. Staff are so accommodating and pleasant. Would recommend the shower floors get deep cleaned. They need to upgrade the gowns..they abit warn out. Otherwise lovely quiet getaway for couples...

I’ve stayed here multiple times as it is close to my office. The staff are really nice and the food is surprisingly nice but the building is dreadful, it is clear at one point it was nice (it is also in a great setting) but now the rooms are really in a bad way. For example when I look out my window there has been a half painted exterior wall for the last two days, just random sections are white , it looks like they let a drunk person loose with a paint roller. In the rooms, linen is threadbare, internet is patchy at the best of times, fittings look they are from the builders warehouse bargain box(every possible corner has been cut in every possible way) but somehow they still have great staff putting on a brave face. It’s like faulty towers… but not in a good way. The building really let’s the staff down as they deserve better

Breakfast is adequate and the gardens are beautiful but the rooms are so tired. The towels are threadbare, the linen torn, broken fixtures, ridiculous basin taps and generally shabby and in need of some focused cleaning. Very sad but not close to five star.

We had our honeymoon overnight stay at St Andrews, beautiful clean hotel, however, were slightly disappointed. We arrived late after our wedding (around 1-2am). When we arrived, it was raining, the staff at front were cold and unfriendly, offered no assistance with our luggage bags, or doors etc.
We had hot water the first night, but none the next morning. We were told it would be back after around 20 minutes; after a couple of hours, still no feedback, so we ended up leaving the hotel in the afternoon, to take a shower at another hotel. We were disappointed in the lack of feedback from the hotel regarding this. It really didn't make our honeymoon special :(

The hotel is very nice and the administrative staff were great and very professional. However, this hotel has the most appalling security staff I've ever experienced in any professionally managed setting. I came into the hotel after midnight on Saturday June 18 and had to wait in the dark in front the gate of the hotel for more than 10minutes. I tried honking and knocking at the gate more than 3 times with no answer and no security person at the post to help me out. After approximately 15mins of not knowing what to do, the gate finally swung open, I drove up to the reception area and was accosted by a security guard who chided and admonished me insisting that I should not honk at the gate but rather that I should call the front desk. I explained I was a visitor and did not have a local phone and no one had explained to me that I would be locked out of the hotel if I came in 'late'. The guard proceeded to yell rudely at me insisting my honking was disturbing important guests including the EMC who was supposedly sleeping at the hotel. To him, I was a nuisance and unwelcome!!! To make things more interesting he told me he had 4 armed guards roaming the property and that he threatened me that he was going to radio them up and order them to SHOOT ME! This nightmare incident was intercepted by a night manager who heard the commotion and apologized to me and escorted me into the hotel. As if this wasn't enough, as the manager was apologizing and trying to explain the situation, the security guard in question literally threatened to physically beat me up and rushed into the lobby to carry out his threat. He was apprehended by the manager who had to shut the door of the lobby to prevent him from coming in. I was SHOOK! I fled to my room and checked out the following day! I expressed my dismay to the management in the morning and they promised to get back to me. Sadly, they never did!
Very beautiful place with a very UNPROFESSIONAL security people who threaten the lives of their guests with armed and physical violence. This was a nightmare encounter and hope that the hotel takes a serious review of such incidents

I know many places went through hard times with the COVID pandemic but this Hotel shows signs of many years of neglect. Its not clean at all. Broken tiles, dirty carpets, door locks look tampered with. Who puts a tv above the bar fridge where there is no seating or view of the tv ? Photos speak a thousand words and at R1500 a night this is not worth the money. Dont stay here unless you are desperate and cant find anything around the area.
