The trail is a great and adventurous. You can walk your dog too or take your group of friends and enjoy the hiking. It's a great view up there.
However the trail is now no longer the best like It used to be. Some of the places are closing etc.

Part of the Baakens Valley Nature Reserve, this walk meanders along the river ending up at bridge street. Many folks riding bicycles and many walking their dogs.
The ideal place to escape the city buz and relax in mother nature.

Very beautiful great for running, hiking and cycling. It is a bit neglected restrooms are awful, would definitely recommend going in a group.

Beautiful place for a Sunday afternoon walk or a Saturday morning walk. The place has been neglected a bit and no clear demarcations for hikers.

One of my favourite outdoor spaces and right in the middle of the city. There are various access points to the Baaken's Valley, but I chose this one today. The Lower Guinea Fowl trail is part of Settler's Park and a beautiful space to just get out into nature. Bird and butterfly life abound and the early morning bush smells are enough to make you feel grounded. Coupled with a brisk walk, it's a great opportunity to get those endorphins going. I often walk alone, but remain vigilant. I don't advise walking at dusk or too early in the morning. The Baaken's Valley extends for 22 kilometres through Port Elizabeth.

Nice trails for walking and hiking. However there was a bit of litter and broken glass around
