Our staff had a lovely beachfront cruise on Sunday, we had a bit of drizzle on the way out of and into port, but the protection on the craft was good to keep us comfortable. We were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins for about 10 minutes that played next to the craft. the crew were so polite, friendly and even though we live in Port Elizabeth taught us many interesting facts about our stretch of coast and how sailors used to navigate and what interesting things happened in the past. I also thoroughly enjoyed it when the skipper released the 500hp and we sped along the swells for a little bit.

We had the best time.
Both of our guides were friendly, knowledgeable about not only the wildlife in and around the bay, but also about the history of Port Elizabeth, and Algoa Bay.
Although we didn't see whales, we had two pods of dolphins come right up to us, and this was an amazing experience. Definitely a trip worth taking. A great idea for a Christmas gift. ♥

Excellent tour. Jake (and the team) were very knowledgeable on the bay, its animals and the human activity interfering with the wildlife. They can't guarantee that you'll see anything, but we saw several small pods of dolphins, a Bryde's whale, and some penguins. Overall a lovely experience. Very thankful for the conservation efforts of Raggy Charters #SaveOurOceans #SaveAlgoaBay

At the end of April I went on an Ocean Safari in Algoa Bay with Raggy Charters, a marine eco tour company owned by Lloyd Edwards.

The place is very easy to find inside the Port Elizabeth harbour and the crew greets and briefs everyone before you go on board. We headed out of the harbour and had a safety demonstration on board at the beginning.
Jake, the skipper of “my” boat, Keith, the skipper in training and the three volunteers took good care of us.
We saw two humpback whales that are currently residing in the bay. The highlight was hundreds of dolphins that were swimming near the island and around the boat.
Cape Gannets, Cape Cormorants, African Penguins, Sea Gulls and the best - an African Black Oystercatcher family with a baby - were the most interesting birds that we spotted.

Drinks and snacks were provided. The crew was fantastic, with extraordinary knowledge and are fiercely involved in the conservation and protection of marine life.

We highly recommend Raggy Charters.

Had an amazing day out with the Raggy Charter team. Knowledgeable team amd able to answer many questions and provide good insight. Thanks to Jake for staying in contact with me and advising on the weather im advance. This helped us have the right weather for the boat tour.
Fortunately got to see some Southern Right whales, a huge pod of dolphins and observe some African penguins.
Highly advise that anyone, even locals, spend the morning with them. They're also doing so much for the local community and the upkeep of the bay.
