Decent place for a good meal and drink. Tongue in cheek humor and very old school atmosphere.

A large collection of odds and ends around to keep you busy looking for hours.

Friendly staff with great service. Would definitely recommend.

Decent food for pub affair and great value.

Clean and well maintained hotel with guirky rooms.

If not visiting to sleep over, at least have a drink and snack at the bar. We'll worth it.

Had dinner at the Stage Door on 10 July 2019. I ordered Surf 'n Turf. The steak melted like butter in my mouth and the Calamari was soft served with chips. Absolutely loved the vibe and the good olden days collectables on display all over. Friendly staff and helpful waiters. Definitely worth a 5 star rating!! Highly recommended restaurant!

Relaxed friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, friendly and helpful. I had the prawn special offered on Tuesday night's excellent value for money. Very eclectic, sawdust on the floor, lots of Nick nakes to see almost a museum of bygone days. Probably best to book , street parking, car car in attendance.

This is the best steak in the world. I have traveled all the way from Pretoria to come and have a steak here and I am so pleased to say that the quality, taste and experience is still exactly the same as it has been all these years. Superb and a must do when you are in Port Elizabeth.

Fascinating unique and interesting place to eat. Full of old memorabilia. Was an extremely worthwhile experience. The food was great value for money and not fancy but really delicious. Well worth the effort of paying this restaurant a visit.

I love this place. Quirky and eccentric.
Great food but simple. Really fair prices.
Service is advertised as awful but really quite good. Grumpy at times but good.
Live acts on a regular basis. Sport on tv screens.
I regularly visit Port Elizabeth from the UK and this is always our first place to eat, meet and have a ball.

Why 4 and not 5 stars.
Personal choice but a couple more beers on draught and a few changes to the menu would do it.

Full of old world memorobilia , the hotel is known for a good plate of steak or fish and chips. Well worth the visit particularly for out of town visitors. There are two sections, the pub which also serves food and the dinning room with its sawdust covered floor. Friday nights a reservation must be made. Could be the oldest operating hotel in SA . Not sure I would want to sleep there though because its not in a great area of the city.. Character filled bit of history.
