Hermanus Esplanade

Thoroughly enjoyed experience. The rustic old feel of the place takes one back to simpler times. The facilities are occasionally a little more run down than necessary, but otherwise the location and games room make the Esplanade a very nice place for accommodation, either 1 night or more.

A beautiful place and would love to go again. The view, the feeling of relaxation and the daytime activity in walking distance made it pleasant for me and my kids. Esplanade brings a warm homely feeling and making it real cozy for you to spend a few days. The only problem I had was that the stairs in the flats are extremely dangerous. It's not child friendly and I think can do much more harm then just a scratch on the knee or elbow

Been staying over at Esplanade for many many years now. It's affordable and offers great views. The state of the sea facing rooms are not wonderful though. Everything is very "dated" and upstairs rooms mostly have a slight musty smell. The braai area with the sea at your doorstep is the major plus. Staff has always been helpful and good. I just wish they would update or redo the rooms.

Hermanus Esplanade is close to most things and relatively inexpensive. The service was great and the accommodation was good. There were some problems however with the lack of plugs for the television and food pieces that were left on the cutlery from the previous residents. Overall, it was a cosy place, perfect for us and worth all 3 stars.

Dissapointed on condition of unit 21.
Could be such a nice unit if a little bit of money could be spent to upgrade it. It is centrally placed in the town.
The old fridge has no door seal and food does not stay cold unless a chair is placed against the door. It is an eyesore.
The microwave is rusted inside.
The tap in bathroom basin is loose.
The lounge furniture is so hard to sit on on because all the springs have been replaced with wooden boards.
All the furniture is old and needs a coat of paint, as well as the rusted outdoor furniture.
The pictures shown of any if the unite are misleading.
The whole building needs maintenance.

Great Place to stay in Hermanus!
Went there with a group of 35 people and the staff was great. Good rooms for affordable prices.
Marvelous views of the bay and sometimes you can even see whales from your balcony.
Definately do reccomend this place in the centre of Hermanus.

Dangerous cut away staircase in double storey cottage. Street lights shine through main bedrooms thin curtains making sleeping very uncomfortable. Pillows luke rocks, on a busy street. Not recommended if you like the finer things in life.
