The perfect little spot, I gotta say having gotten to know the people and it turning into my Sunday morning routine this little quaint restaurant has become one of my favorite spots in Hermanus, amazing food and what a great team, a must do if you are in the area, try the Squid heads!!!!! And the views are awesome, strategically places on the harbor and right for some summer fun

Nice spot, vintage interior, full of whale bones and harbour decorations. Small little space. Everyone at the table was happy with their food. The fried prawns were by far the best, absolutely tasty and fresh, but sadly had some poop string in each of the 3 prawns(not the end of the world for me, but not ideal) . The cob "catch of the day" was definitely frozen, but still tasty and not dry, lacked a bit of texture. I had the Thai mussels which I found lacking in flavour a little. The mussels were fresh and delicious, but not nearly enough sauce to slurp up which I like. Fair prices with beautiful views, but can definitely improve. I would eat there again and give it a try, but for me I was hoping for a nice an punchy Thai mussel sauce having enjoyed the same dish in Thailand a few times.

Giving it 4 stars because the overall experience was good and food was decent, will give it a try again one day.

The location is good and the food is okay. However I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable with the rude greeting and appalling service we received from one of the two servers on duty. It set a very sour tone for for the rest of our lunch. A little bit of friendliness doesn’t cost nearly as much as the below average food.

If you are looking for a good seafood place in Hermanus, then the Quayside Cabin is the place for you. They have a large selection of dishes to choose from. As we were a group 6 we decided to go for the platter for 6. It was definitely the right decision - firstly it looked impressive when it arrived, and secondly it was filled with various different seafood plus sides so everyone could get a taste of everything they like. It was so much that we struggled to finish it all. We saw some of the smaller platters going to other tables and they also looked pretty good. The Quayside Cabin is located in the New Harbour and is quite small so I definitely recommend that you make a booking, especially if you go over the summer period or during the festive season - we saw a number of people being turned away. The restaurant is decorated in a true rustic sea-cabin style and has a very energetic atmosphere and buzz. They also allow for corkage so if you have been to one of the local wine farms and bought some white wine that pairs well with seafood you can take it with. We had such a great time that I am sure we will be back there soon. This is a hidden gem, off the beaten track and a must for seafood lovers.

One of the gems in Hermanus...food is amazing and the service good! We took our family from Gauteng there and had a whale of a time while the kids played. NB..you just HAVE to try their 'giant seafood platter'! Value for money and delicious!

Very large portions and delicious fish options. Varied menu and reasonable service. Pleasant seaside location at the new harbour. Only hard wooden benches though. Book ahead during the holiday season.

Just waiting for food poisoning to kick in. Oysters tasted rotten, fish and calamari were ok. Chips in old stale oil inedible. Service was worst I’ve had in South Africa ever.
Venue fit out and vibe was spectacular. Ashame the girl didn’t want to be there serving us and food was terrible. Was excited to eat there.
