Wow, what a pathetic experience!
My partner and l wasted over R500 for the worst meal of our lives
Poor service, horrible manager and terrible food quality! Really regretted our experience and had to end up buying Mc Donald’s across the road afterwards.

Our 500g rib eye steak was raw and when we brought it up to the kitchen they microwaved the steak old and plastered it in marinade, we left our table with 300g living steak on the table which was not touched again.

When the manager was informed he did not apologised, he was arrogant, unapologetic and unhelpful! He did not offer us compensation for our rather unfortunate and disgusting meal, as well as waste of time. Most off putting meal of our lives and we are praying to not have food poisoning tomorrow! Uncooked meet!

09.09.2018 Firstly let me say why i am giving them such a high rating - their service. From arrival to the time we left, every single staff member was friendly, welcoming and so helpful on a freezing cold morning and our waitress Precious was a super star. As for food i think we were too adventurous or rather the menu is, and our food took quite a while to arrive. In theory the combos sounds fabulous, but taste wise it isnt.

I tried the New and Improved Americano Breakfast. Sadly i think not. Triple decker flapjacks with scrambled eggs, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, cheddar cheese covered with maple syrup. I'm not sure if a fried egg would do it better justice, the mushrooms tasted like canned mushrooms and the cheddar went hard so i literally lifted it off and put aside. I would have rather just had the flapjacks with bacon and maple syrup and maybe feta cheese?

My friend had the Breakfast pizza which looked really good. My mom had the usual breakfast stuff, simple yet effective. Bacon, Eggs, Toast, Tomato and Chips. My sister tried the Salmon Stacker. Again this stacker thing isnt working.

They do however make a mean Cappucino with the Perfect amount of fresh cream. The menu has great variety. It's the first time I've ever ordered breakfast, i usually get lunch from their branches (pizzas or prego rolls) but will try another brekkie option sometime in the near future.

So disappointed. I had to wait at the entrance while no one offered me to seat. The prawn risotto was not well cooked after I waited for more than 30 minutes for them to serve it to me. When I tried to use the restroom both were occupied by the male staff, even the ladies one a male who works at the kitchen came out after a while and laughed at me with his colleagues and they pointed at me while I was seating down. Such disrespect to a customer ????????

This place is awful. Our go to place in the centre was closed so decided to try this place out. Big mistake!! The steaks are as dry as they come no basting no seasoning. We were at the salt shaker more than anything. I ordered the schnitzel as I had seen it from another diner and the portion seemed reasonable but when mine came it was 10 times smaller without nearly enough sides and way too salty. But I guess different colored people get different food portions. I literally had to go next door to the ocean basket to get some sushi because wow this place is awful. Don’t waste your money here you WILL regret it.

This restaurant won't see me again!
Our order was simple!
200g rump steak medium rare, no basting, spinach for me and rice for my husband.
We couldn't order crumbled mushrooms or 300g rump steak from the menu, since they didn't have stock. Thus, poor stock keeping.
We waited over half an hour for our food and when it arrived it was already cold. Thus poor time management skills.
The manager offered to warm up our food and to add some rump steak, since it was a very small portion and didn't add up to 200g.
We were already experiencing bad service and decided to rather cancel our order.
The waitress informed management that we were canceling our order, the waitress came back and said that management is already busy with the food, yet again we said to the waitress to cancel the order. Next thing the manager and our waitress comes out and offers our plates of food, where the steak had basting on it now, after we told them to cancel it.
It was as if management was trying to force it on us!
When they finally accepted that we're not going to take the food there was definitely an attitude towards us from the manager, she didn't say anything, she didn't have to, her whole body language showed it. Thus, management skills are lacking!

In a time like this, with a pandemic going on. Service and food should be tops, not a disappointment.

I feel for stressed for this owner of Del Forno since there's a lot of competition around them!

Didn't visit this restaurant. Had an unpleasant experience with them before.

I should have walked out the minute I saw people returning their takeaways! Ordered the steak and I think I place better effort into my dogs meals. I ordered medium it arrived well done like the other reviews have stated it’s definitely not 200g no basting and so dry. Zero seasoning the salt shaker will be your best friend at this place. Had to return the steak when it came back half my mash was gone. By the way expect 3 spoons over salted mash and 4 cucumbers. There was no effort placed in the presentation it’s was so dry even when it came back as medium done I was using the mash as the basting because when we asked for sauce we only got Tabasco sauce. Perhaps they need to cut down their menu items and have a speciality which judging by how many people were only drinking and not ordering food is just drinks. Maybe turn the place into a bar because food is not your speciality. I will definitely never ever not even if someone paid me be going back there. The pricing for what they serve is daylight robbery.
