Everything is perfect from the service at reception to the rooms to service around the park. Best location to have a holiday. You wake up to a quiet beautiful town. Stroll down the street to Barneys and have breakfast . Breakfast is a show on its own with so much variety.
Then slowly the people start arriving and you hear the rides starting up before long your enjoying a day filled with fun and laughter. At the end of the day the people all go home and you can are back in your own quiet little town.

The best part of this is that you put in the theme park and you can have lots to do around the day. The evening is not as great and you need to book the shuttle to go across to the Gold reef hotel for dinner or entertainment, which can be quite late if slots are taken. It was a cold part of the year so was not an option to walk with toddlers. To get an Uber go to Gate 1 as drivers get confused.

The room was not bad and the bathroom was very large. The bathroom always seemed to smell. The cleaners were very good and were very thorough. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It was missing a few small things like lotion or the cupboards being able to open.

Had an awesome time from our 1st train ride to the Maverick. My daredevil niece enjoyed it immensely as well. Good value for money. We only waited long at the 1st ride 'cos it is a most popular ride for families. Was a bit disappointed that we didn't get to sample the ice cream offerings as it was close to 5pm when we decided to get ice cream.

Very organised and interesting place to be. There is everything you can think of, food, games and machines, bars for chilling out and drinking.

Play area for kids, and adults. Most important is the interaction you will have with random people at each point of contact. Very interesting, and big to cover all the activities in one day. I will definitely be there again.

Aesthetically pleasing bedrooms but not a very pleasant stay. The bottle water tasted like tap water. The phones didn't work for room service. I had no towels in my room even after it was cleaned. The coffee bar in the room didn't have coffee and the main bedroom lights were not functional it kept flashing through the night.

Gold reef city is supposed to be a 5star, but the service is terrible, you can't complain about the service actually, because there is NO SERVICE!! There is no one to help you at the ice-cream pallour, went to 2 different ones but no one ???????? The rides are fun, except for the people who think you have to allow them to jump the lines. And there are signs EVERY WHERE ???? saying it's not allowed..... That just blows my mind ???????????? wanted to get something to eat, then they don't want to help you, cause it's almost closing time... So my advice to the PAYING Customer.... When you do decide to go to gold reef city, make sure you have eaten elsewhere and tell your kinds you'll get them ice-cream and something to eat elsewhere after you're trip to the rides and theme park... The lady's restroom close to the anaconda ride was filthy and there was no lights. The only staff that help you and are friendly, are the people at the gates and the staff at the photo booth. Will only go for the rides and nothing else. I guess they make so much money from the entrance fees that they don't need us to go to buy or eat at the restaurants.
