InterContinental Johannesburg O.R.Tambo Airport, an IHG Hotel

We stayed here twice in the past month. It was exceptional both times and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. And we are used to staying in five star hotels. The rooms both were beautiful. We upgraded from the standard room and the room we received was luxurious and large. The employees were friendly and professional. The bellmen were all very experienced and knew what they were doing. Both times we were escorted to the check-in counter at JNB, which can be a challenging experience as we always get confused at the area with the multiple escalators and elevators, and many are not working. It may cost a bit more to stay here, but if you don't mind spending the extra money, by all means stay here!

Excellent stay just across from the airport. Excellent service from front desk, concierge and restaurant personnel. The concierge printed out forms we needed to go home with a smile. Witnessed employee deep cleaning the lobby areas frequently. Very clean and modern rooms with strong WiFi. Enjoyed the lovely pool area. The food for dinner and breakfast was plentiful, delicious and well-priced. I can see how this is a popular place to stay and will stay again.

Very courteous staff and super convenient location for a long layover. Great dinning experience with good food and friendly staff. Crib for our baby was set prior to our arrival. We will 100% stay here again when we travel through Johannesburg.

Rooms are fine.

However, the service is no where near up to mark for a 5 star or the brand intercontinental.

Staff are stuck up. Very few are friendly. Restaurant service is lacking. We had no cutlery, and when we asked for some, it took a long time to get any.

Hostess is extremely snobby.

Food is average. No real taste.

Okay to stay one night as a "stopover" hotel. But no longer than that.

Very expensive for what we experienced.

This is coming from a IHG gold member.

I only spent one night on a long layover, but I wish I was here longer! The front desk staff was super friendly, and very professional! Whitney did a superb job to check me in, and with a great smile.

The room was very spacious, with all amenities necessary for a great stay. The bathroom was very elegant, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable!

The spa was better then expected! The layout is beautiful, as you walk straight to the pool upon exiting the elevator. I had a fantastic massage from Thondi, and at $45 us dollar with tip, an absolute steal!

The restaurant was another big hit, as every server there truly cares for each guest! I had the pleasure to have Zanele as my server, and she truly went above and beyond! The penne bolognese was superb, and the wine delicious!

I can't recommend this place enough if you're on a layover at JNB. It literally took me 3 minutes to walk from the arrivals terminal, to the front desk lobby. Outstanding location, delicious food, and phenomenal staff members! I'll definitely stay here again in the neat future!

If you are travelling with family or even alone , for business or on holidays this is the great place to stay. They have nice restaurants with amazing food option. The team are always willing to help and provide the required support timeously.
The rooms are properly maintained with access to WiFi, in room dinning with a beautiful view to Oliver R Tambo International Airport.

Stayed here for two nights, the hotel was clean and the rooms were very comfortable. Room service was efficient and they always call back to check on the food which was really a nice gesture. Hotel is 5 mins walk from the airport so it’s really convenient if you need to stop at JNB airport for a night.
