If the point of the QR code menu was to save time, it failed in its mission. I had limited mobile data so I had to connect to the restaurant's wifi, which was slow. The waiter insisted on using the online menu, and the ordering process took 20 minutes with him standing next to me and instructing me the entire time. You have to click into new pages to view different menu categories, which was painful because of the dodgy wi-fi. At some point it simply wouldn't load so I had to restart the process again. And you can't just browse the online menu quickly, you also need to create an account first because you're forced to pay on the site (before you even receive your food). Plus, I couldn't find any option for tipping! Incredibly irritating, unnecessary process. I understand that it's not this specific Nando's fault, but at least tell your waiters to offer the option of normal menus and not force your customers to use this, because I guarantee almost everyone is totally fine with regular menus. I had gone in already knowing exactly what I wanted to order, so the kitchen would've received my order within 2 minutes. And if I hadn't known what to order, how would I even be able to think and decide when the waiter was standing next to me, talking, for 20 minutes straight? The experience was awkward, tedious and frustrating, and I'm sure it would've been fine without the stupid online menu.
