I sit every time I go to the Jolly Roger. Gee whiskers, I sure do love the Jolly Roger. Their chairs are stellar, what a variety. 10/10 would recommend the comfy seating options. The variety of seating options is incomparable to anything I've seen in Johannesburg. My reflection in the mirror at the Jolly is the most beautiful version of my self that I have ever witnessed. You can also see the reflection of the chairs in the mirror and (if they are occupied), their occupants. The music may not always be what you expect but is strangely the music you need in the moment. However, the true hero of the Jolly is not the the jukebox, but the many seating options, be them upstairs or down. What really adds to the character of this fine establishment are the regular patrons, but even more so the dependable seating options. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. The Jolly is not for everyone, which is good, because everyone sucks.

What a great place this was. We went there on a week night and had an awesome time.

We were greeted by a proper lad that was fun the whole evening. To start the night with a draft is never bad, and what a draft is was. We then had their pizza special (which is a huge bargain in joburg) and is was spectacular.

Apart from the lekker kos and beer there is a jukebox that’s pumping the entire time which is absolutely great. This is a great place man, well done.

Would totally recommend.

I was surprised to see how friendly and lovely the staff are even through loadshedding. Also, i absolutely Loved the blue jam jar and pizza that I got (although I over estimated how much spice I could handle ????). The pizza was super delicious.

The place has character with years of having the same style. It is a must visit pub for those who loves pub crawling. It is vibey and noisy. Very smokey. So if you can bear smelling like smoke for a couple of days and you addicted to 2nd hand smoking, this is for you. Definitely needs better extractors. Can sit downstairs or upstairs, which has a smoking balcony. Not a cocktail bar. Variety or beers and drinks. The pizzas is legendary and few places can match their crispy thin based oven baked pizzas with plenty of toppings. Not part of Jolly Cool opposite the road.

Coolest spot in Parkhurst, safe, bar prices not to bad, local beers always on special, delicious pizza, friendly staff. Not wheelchair friendly, gets crowded quickly big screen tvs for sport,

Still remains a Joburg classic and so happy that it is still standing through ups and downs. Go have a beer there just for the vibe. Old skool pub.
