Kashif's has always been delivering consistent quality food for the past 10 years that I have been eating there. They also have daily affordable specials. I have just purchased recently Chicken Masala with Rice and Naan. Pictures attached. Absolutely Divine! Their prawn dishes are also really good. Thanks to Kashif, Ebrahim and team for always going the extra mile for your customers.

I went into kashif's coz I've heard really good things about their food. When I went in I inquired about why they don't have a halal sign (I'm not from Fordsburg or jhb) .. the guys working there told me it's NIHT approved.. so I said okay...and I ended up buying from there (it was a takeaway) .. on my way home..I decided to check on the NIHT website to make sure they're listed.. guess what? They're NOT!!

Long story short.. I phoned them and the guy who answered gave the phone to the owner.. and he said that they're not certified by any organization as he doesn't want to be part of the politics.. and he read his shahadah for me ..lol.. saying he's Muslim and they're halal .. he also stated If I have a doubt I should just return the food.. to which I replied that I couldn't return the food because I was not from jhb and I was on the road back home.. so he's like okay you can give the food away and he'll return my money.

Ao I asked him its not just about the money... why was his staff telling people that they're halal certified if they were not????

His answer : He hung up..

I guess that's why halal certification is so important..coz people lie...

Very good quality food and you taste different spices in different dishes. There is quite a wait after you order as they prepare from scratch for you. It was well worth the wait.

For a first time wxpiremce I was very disappointed and completely not what I expected. For an Indian cuisine restaurant, it was expecting to find a wide range of Indian food on the menu , to my dismay I only found beef karhai and chicken karhai , I opted for the chicken.

Again, I was expecting soft succulent pieces of chicken fillets instead I found very few thinly sliced small pieces of about 2 to 3 cm long chicken cut into a pot of tomato gravy.

I ordered this with garlic Naan, bread. When the order came, I thought I had asked for butter Naan, the butter or ghee was so much that it was actually running off the Naan. To make things worse for me , I could hardly taste the garlic

When I placed my order, I ask for for coke in a can , I saw the price of the can was almost R20 so I assumed it was the 340ml only to find the waiter served me with a 200ml can....very disappointing. For R24 I could get a 2liter from Spar.

The only reason why I didn't just get up and leave the entire dish with the small can and walk out, was because I was very hungry and was looking forward to have a meal from them, very disappointed ????

Then the bill comes, the total is written in large print with a 10% already added , I nearly asked to see a manager .

I must say though...the Masala Naan was very nice and spicy

The food is always great. Kashif knows how to keep us coming back for more.
I had the Malaysian Prawns tonight and it was absolutely delicious.

We ate peshawari gosht n chicken peri peri both dishes were excellent. Good ambiance.
WHY I GAVE 3 STARS ONLY?
THEY ADD 10% GRATUITY MONEY IN THE BILL WITHOUT CUSTOMERS CONCERNED WHICH IS NOT GOOD AT ALL.
ITS MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO MR.KASHIF PLEASE CHANGE THIS THING ITS NOT GOOD FOR SUCH A GREAT RESTAURANT.

Very nice food delicious
