It was such a delight to visit this treasure. Katherine and her Mother have created this wonderful experience where you are immersed in Victorian history and can see it for your own eyes. Everywhere you look is a charming object with a story that Katherine is able to recall for you. I could have spent a day in just one room with her but there is a whole home filled with antiquity. Please do take time to visit this true gem

This is the most intriguing museum's I have ever seen. The amount of detail in each room is absolutely breathtaking, from the wooden floors to the ceiling is an feast for the eyes. You are transported to an era that was fully functional without modern-day technology and its astonishing to comprehend how the people of this era lived and trived. I would recommend this glorious museum to each and every person.

The Lady Katherine is the best tour guide I have ever met, she lives and embody this era with so much care and grace, it was an incredible experience to be able to take this tour with her. Thank you so very much for opening your home to us and sharing your passion and knowledge with us.

Absolutely mind-blown after my visit! The details, massive collection of period-true .... everything! And Catherine is a fount of knowledge on every article in the house, its uses, and how day to day life was lived in the early to late Victorian era. I did not know that this gem of a museum existed in Johannesburg and I've lived here all my life. Spoiler alert: there is a fantastical dolls house, entirely built and furnished by Catherine and her mother. It has to be seen to be believed!

This was the most unique museum experience. One of a kind. The host is absolutely lovely and her private tour allows you to enter the Victorian Era through her home. This is a living museum which is a step back in time and so many interesting facts!
Thank you for such a lovely morning in this one of a kind home!

Amazing! The lady who is guiding tours is also owner of the place who lives in the house. She is highly knowledgeable not only about the house and her collections but also about whole Johannesburg and Auckland Park district where the museum is located. I had astonishing two hours tour when she presented me many unique items displayed in the house, told me a lot about history of the place and whole city and answered all my questions. If you want to know more about Johannesburg, how people used to live in Victorian era and you are into collections from late 19th century this is place for you.
