After reading all the negative reviews I was scared of coming here but people are more inclined to condemn for the negative experience than they are to praise for the positive experiences and my experience so far has been above and beyond and they deserve the recognition for that .. Every nurse I have come across have been the sweetest, most patient and caring! Every employee has been extremely helpful.. The food is delicious and the rooms are clean.. Thank you so much netcare garden city hospital for your exceptional service.. I commend you all!

I am a patient currently in hospital, waiting for heartburn meds from 12:00. It's 19:00 now. Nurses says it's out of their hands. Chemist supposed to send up. We called the chemist approx 9 times. No answer. This hospital went to hell. Will give a proper update later.

You sometimes have to wait a while in pain in emergency.. So that's terrible. Depends on the nurses you deal with, the services are different.
Accounts department is inconsiderate and will come up to you for payment while sedated even after you've signed forms stating you will make payment. From my experience. The doctors and most of the nurses are great.

My daughter received the best care from Sister Busi at casualty, very wonderful, very helpful and caring. After surgery, my daughter was moved to Section 9 and one of the night staff was horrible to her, blatently refused to help her get to the bathroom when she was struggling to get of the bed, let alone walk to the bathroom. Simply shocking that this can even happen in a private hospital.

My mom is admitted in the hospital currently and has been in and out since Dec 2021. She had a stroke so most of the times she forgets certain things she's recently moved into an isolation ward where she complained that one of the male nurses slapped her and also a female nurse. I believe my mom because she has been in and out of the hospital but it's the first time that she is complaining about abuse. Yet to get feedback of how they going to resolve this issue as there should be cameras in these type of wards especially if the person has memory issues to protect both staff and patient. I don't sleep at night am really worried about my mom am praying for them to discharge her this week. She also mentioned that night staff were really mean to her and called her crazy nd that she will not remember what they doing to her. I'm disgusted and so disappointed at Garden city and the way they have treated the elderly. After this I will neva let my mom go back there ever again!

My name is Bonita Leech.
My mom Mrs Juliana Russell was in Garden City hospital for 8 weeks.
I want to thank all the staff in Section one highcare and ICU for all they did for my mom. My mom unfortunately has passed away on Friday the 5th of August. My mom got the best care as she had no bedsores and were treated with respect and we as family were treated with a lot of sympathy and empathy.
I would like o thank the following doctors for all they did for her
Dr M Laher, Dr Z Laher, Dr A Mohammed.
I also wan to thank the physio therapist Faeeza that treated her.

This is by far the worst Netcare hospital. The nurses are extremely rude, unsympathetic and have the worst attitude towards family members as well as the patients. My mother was initially admitted for 2 days but due to the hospital being unequiped, she ended up staying another extra day. When the nurses were asked if they have any updates on when the doctor would do his round to check on the patient and discharge the patient, the nurses said that they phoned the doctor's room to ask but the receptionist did not answer them and hence they couldn't say when the doctor would come. I, myself then went to the doctor's room and the receptionist was surprised that my mother was still not discharged and said that the nurses from the ward had not called the room at all in the past 3 days but we were told by the nurses that they have been in contact with the doctor's receptionist. This hospital is nothing more than a money making scheme and the nurses need to be trained properly and should behave in a professional manner towards their patients and the family members.
