I’ve eaten at the Red Chamber a handful of times over the years. Their food is always tasty and the portion sizes are decent.
The service today was average despite the restaurant being practically empty.
The venue is a little dark inside and I think it’s busier at night.
Today, I was disappointed by the overall eating experience. It won’t be on top of my list for venues when I next visit Hyde Park.

If I could give this restaurant all the stars in the galaxy, I would!! The Ma Po tofu, dumplings and noodles were on another level ???? The owner was so attentive and sweet

24.05.2018 After test tasting some good wines at the Kaya FM wine festival that was happening in the mall we needed something to eat.

We did a quick stop here, but definitely want to go back again as we only ordered starters which filled us up. We ordered the Sesame toast and the Thin Spring Onion Pastry. Both were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The staff were all pleasant and helpful with recommendations and a trip down memory lane when we got the bill and received a " White Rabbit" sweet.

The only thing I enjoyed was the ginger tea. We ordered braised tofu withshitake mushrooms. And the other dish was fried mushroom with bamboo.Both meals were highly disappointing,the sauce's tasted like royco packet brown gravy, The tofu looked like it was simply taken out water u0026 dumped into a gravey. Both dishes tasted the same. Presentation is severely lacking.
