I enjoyed myself here on every occasion that I have visited. Its a fun, lively place of dance, drink and the arts.

Recommended for all age groups of adults.
Looking to find some hidden gems while having a good meal and a drink, or even a place to have your next shoot at. This is it.

I love Cosmopolitan Lounge, but my experiences are always mixed. Sometimes we'd be passing and they'd invite us in, no entrance fee. Then when we decide to go there they'll either charge us an entrance fee or not allow us in because some of our friends, who are of legal drinking age, are deemed young. Or sometimes we'd come in two different Ubers, the others in one Uber will be charged and entrance fee and the others in one Uber won't. It is really inconsistent. Other than that, it is so much fun when you do manage to get in.

I had just had one of those days where you feel like doing the "laptop in a coffee shop" thing just to cleanse your psychological palette with the stillness of anonymity.

The Cosmopolitan Lounge caught my eye as I rolled mindlessly down commissioner street. I was invited in by It's warm and rich darkwood furnishes against varnished exposed brick, and the gentle nostalgic sounds of familiar old-school RnB.

I settled into a corner couch and lit a cigarette as the waiter handed me a glass of whiskey.

Sitting there in silence, I watched traffic build outside while replaying the earlier scenes of my day.

Just then my girlfriend calls.

"I will be home later than normal today honey", I tell her before making a mental note that this lounge has just become one of my favourite hide away spots in Jozi.

My laptop never came out, but my palette was thoroughly cleaned.

It looks a whole lot more like one of those buildings from long ago.. still it is as ullering as any other building in the street.
