I had an awesome stay. The family were incredibly accommodating and I felt comfortable throughout my visit. Would definitely return.

Being the third time that we stayed at Upper Houghton Guesthouse we can highly recommend a stay over.
Marcus and his family have always gone out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The room, with bathroom on suite, is spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts are well presented, delicious and more than adequate.
All in all Upper Houghton Guesthouse is good value for money and we look forward to our next visit.

The place is beautiful and green. It's a great place to escape the city and collect your thoughts - bask in the sunlight beside the swimming pool or on the patio. The antique furniture just adds on to the peaceful nature of the place. It is very spacious and the hospitality is on another level. I felt like a Queen in just the 2 days I stayed there.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of returning to Upper Houghton Guesthouse for yet another incredible stay. Thank you Marcus and your amazing comrades for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable. For letting me in with a smile in the early hours of the morning and for making the most amazing breakfasts! I will be back next time I’m in Joburg.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Taking our phone call in the early hours of the morning and preparing our room and warm coffee for our arrival at 1am. Your hospitality and warm conversation in our time of sadness warm our hearts. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast prepared on the day of our departure. Best and most welcoming service ever. Breakfast was excellent ! Rooms are very neat and refreshing! Owners are very friendly and caring.Will definitely recommend them for anyone and visit again in the near future.

This is my third week in this guesthouse, the serving spirit in workers hasn't changed since. The place is clean, breakfast delicious (sometimes they even ask me what would I want to eat the next day). One gets to rest after a busy day in Johannesburg. Everyone please come and fill the warmth of this home away from home.
