To visit the place where Dalene Matthee spent most of her days is just amazing. Circles in the forest is one of my favourite books and to just take in what she saw when she wrote the book was a moment I loved.

Beautiful walk through the forest. The big tree by the memorial was fascinating for us. Knowing the age and size of the tree.

We did the 3km walk with a 5 and 7 year old which was just fine. Beautiful scenery and a little history in relation to the famous South African author Daleen Matthee. Very good value, a must do if you are in the area.

Amazing ancient trees along this hiking trails, very beautiful walk. Can be hiked quickly or savored over several hours. Spotted two Knysna Loeries at the picnic site - be sure to spend some time there.

Other than the big tree the circle walk was such a nice experience! Did the shorter one which is just a flat trail. Definitely kid friendly. Totally covered by the trees whole way through makes it very pleasant. There is an enterance fee, cash only.

The most magic place. Visit the tree, hike the "Circles in the Forest" trail and picnic in between the greenery of the indigenous forest.

Entry is R48 per person. Probably not worth going in to just see the tree. There are a few hiking routes 2 of which is part of the 'Kringe in die Bos' route (3km u0026 9km)
