The restaurant doesn’t live up to the hype of its past reviews unfortunately, something probably changed. The food was ok, I’ve had better sushi elsewhere and the sizzling beef was decent with enough portions to share. There were very few people in the restaurant, the service was ok, although you had to look for someone to help from time to time in a fairly empty place. I’d give it one more try before writing it off completely.

This has been our best sushi place for the last few years. The sushi has always been exceptional not only in taste but in presentation. I've taken customers and international guests over the years and all have commented about how it was THE best sushi they'd ever tasted.

We went again tonight and were horribly disappointed. Presentation has less than average. The sauces that always used to accompany the sushi were no longer included. The sushi just tasted bland and not what we have been accustomed too. Could have spent less than half at an average sushi place and probably done way better.

Maybe management has changed as the usual staff were no longer present.?So very sad . Don't think this will be on our list of places to go again

Let me be clear from the start - this restaurant is an absolute gem. I lived in Asia for four years, so I know a thing or two about Japanese cuisine.

Atmosphere 8/10 - authentic, well put together and very inviting. Possibly not the best place for kids though.

Food10/10 - sushi was OUTSTANDING (I'll go right ahead and recommend the Salmon Fashion Sandwiches and Ebi Prawn Tempura *proper King Sized Prawns!)

Service 9/10 - unobtrusive yet attentive. Perfect for private dining.

In a nutshell, this is a Japanese restaurant I would be comfortable taking my Asian friends to. Well done Tomo Izakaya, you stand head and shoulders above the rest! ???? We'll be back ????

We ordered Cha Shu Ramen which was actually instant noodle with toppings. The seafood udon was even worse, the tiny prawn was turning black, the fish was dry and was definitely off. The salmon platter was nothing to brag either, had better sushi at a all you can eat buffet.

Sushi menu is extensive and the sushi excellent. Their signature Sushis are a real treat. Other menu items (eg sizzling plate) also very good. Decent Winelist with some good value options.

The sushi was quite good but the tempura was absolutely not what I was expecting. We didn't even eat it actually. It was just deep fried vegetables.... The batter was thick flour and egg wash. If you're looking for panko bread crumbs on your tempura, don't come here.

One of the yummiest sushi places you will find. Awesome food. Awesome service. And be sure to try the Japanese drink Soju.. the plum flavour is yum. It's a sweet wine/spirit. Don't let it fool you... you will it hit you later on ????
