In the area there are numerous beaches to choose from, each offering something a little different. Some are smaller, quieter, or perhaps closer (often walking distance) to where you are staying, but the Hartenbos main beach is great. It is expansive, clean, beautiful and great for swimming. It's also right by the Hartenbos Seafront with lots of shops and restaurants, if you want to grab something to eat or have an errand to run before heading home. The further you move away from the main beach the quieter it gets, if you want more privacy, however the only bathrooms I could see were at the Seafront itself so it might be a good idea not to stray too far away. Parking (outside of high-season) is not an issue as there are numerous areas where you can park your car and walk down to the beach. But in high season I recommend you get there early as the spots can quickly fill up, and if the weather is great people often spend the whole day there. This is definitely one of my favorite beaches and I look forward to a swim there again in the near future.

I absolutely love the beac. Best place to vacation in the Western Cape. You can not go wrong. The plase has the best of both nature and white sand beaches.

You can take a walk along the beach and you will enjoy everything that makes this place so special.

The locals are really friendly and willing to help you and that just makes this place even batter.

Beautiful beach all year round. The water is warm and great for swimming. The beach is always clean and very safe.
Over the summer holiday season in December it gets a bit crowded- but I enjoy the holiday vibe. It is lively.
