What a magical place this is. Stunning garden with a pool set in the grounds of a historical well preserved house.

We were greeted warmly on a hot day and were immediately invited to go for a swim first to cool off. Rooms are wonderfully decorated, enormous and immaculately clean.

Had an amazing breakfast after a quick morning swim. Home baked breads, small divine apple cakes and a delicious omelette.

Hosts were a delight and gave us wonderful and varied suggestions for our evening meal.

We only stayed one night and regret not staying longer.

What a find! This guesthouse is one of the oldest buildings in town but has been properly preserved. Rooms seriously look like at Raffles or some other traditional Asian hotel (Peninsula HK?) with wooden floors, period ceilings, vintage bathtubs etc. but all super clean and tidy — yet old. It‘s seriously gorgeous. I booked because of the great reviews, yet wasn’t 100% certain due to the website and campy logo… but this place is LEGIT. Bonus points for a nice courtyard style garden and pool that I didn’t even know existed. Prices are super reasonable as well and probably would be worth twice as much

We received a warm and hospitable welcome, stayed in an impeccable room, and ate delicious breakfasts at Oakdene Guesthouse. Thank you Daniel and Sonja for the excellent dinner recommendations, homemade bread for breakfast, and a really lovely stay.

Very cosy. Great service and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Stayed there with some friends to run the meirings poort half marathon. We had to leave at 4am. The owner made sure to come and make us breakfast at 3am. The garden is really beautiful with a pool where you can go sit and simply relax. The rooms are huge and everything is neat and tidy. Cars can be park of the road in save and secure undercover parking area.

Oakdene is a typical Oudshoorn gem. Dating back from the 1800’s. Old style rooms gorgeously decorated. Lovely peaceful garden with pool for those hot summer nights. Lovely hosts from Belgium make you feel so welcome time after time
