We totally enjoyed our stay at Rietfontein. We had a large room, nicely decorated and a fine bathroom. We had dinner and the food and wine were absolutely wonderful! The lady of the house is a great cook, you see and taste the passion on your plate. She can easily compete with the top places in the Winelands or Cape Town! The views over the mountain are fabulous and the eternity pool (with a view and birds surrounding) was great. The hosts are very friendly and have an eye for detail.

Amazing guesthouse! The owners were so accommodating with our two little kids. Swimming pool such a treat! The dinner was truly amazing. Can't wait to go back!

Being welcomed as if you are already a part of the Rietfontein Ostrich Farm family is merely one of the many things that Wow you when arriving. The rooms are super comfortable and decorated with opulance and vintage flair. Small things like a sherry and coffee pod machine in the room, makes it just that extra bit special. Breakfast is a delicious spread and the plated 3 course dinner is not to be missed. If you are lucky, you might even be able to join the family for a traditional South African braai.

Highlight stay of our trip.
We travel to South Africa fairly regularly and always stay somewhere new, Rietfontein Ostrich palace will definitely be a venue we'll return to.
With well kept grounds and an infinity pool, its the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the good weather, couple that with a wonderful cottage to stay in you really don't need much more, but with Rietfontein the added bonus is the delicious food and hospitality served at the restaurant.
This really was a surprise delight for both breakfast and dinner, superb ingredients and attention to detail meant every meal was an experience you didn't want to finish.

Kobus and Elmare Potgieter were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome. The cooking was fine dining at its best and very good value. The rooms were not luxurious but well fitted out with a keen eye on detail and tastefully decorated. All in all a superb place to stay when passing through the Karoo.
