About 3 months ago we had our daughters wedding at Surval. The venue and location was beautiful.
When we planned the Wedding, the wedding coordinator was helpfull, and assured us just positivity. She was the person we discussed and planned all arrangements. She was also to be our right hand with any issues on the day of the wedding. As Covid restrictions were to be encountered with, the wedding coordinator said it was to be a private function, and no other guests were being allowed.. Paying for a second venue in the premises, we were looking forward to have cocktails at one venue, and the wedding celebrations at the main venue. .
We were received proffensionally with all covid protocol in place. Drinks and snacks were served. As parents of the bride, we wanted to sort one or two things out, but the wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found. But, it was minor problems at that stage.
Everybody enjoyed the sitting outside untill the wedding couple arrived. We moved to the main hall, and had all the formalities. Supper time, no salad plates were available. We were told to re-use our starter plates for the salads. Again no wedding coordinator to discuss the problem. The waitors assisted us immediately. There after minor issues we wanted to arrange and sort out, no wedding coordinator. The waiters and barman assisted where they could.
Just after supper, we noted our original 2nd vevue we paid for, was used for other facilities, and other guests and their children, that had nothing to do with the wedding, were just outside our venue and all over. We decided not to make an issue about it, and just enjoy the wedding.
Later the evening, the coffee was finished. No wedding coordinator again. The barmen assisted, and got more coffee from the kitchen. Every time I went to look for the wedding coordinator, she was nowhere to be found. I was eventually band from entering the kitchen door to try and find assistance by a young male waitor.
Just before closing, a lot of the wedding cake was left on the table. I asked the male waitor if he had empty beer boxes or if I could borrow 2 trays to pack the sliced cake in, as to prevent it drying out overnight. The waitor returned with 3 take away containers.. After not solving and getting propper assistance, I eventually found the wedding coordinater and the main chef. Immediately the main chef got three trays, packed the cake up nicely, and glad wrapped it all for us. The help we got from the main chef, was great... Pity she could be around to assist all evening......
I also think enough has been said now.. Let me conclude. The barmen were great and proffensional. The waitors, thinking back, I feel with them, as they were great, wanted to assist where ever they could when problems occurred. The barmen and waitors were friendly, and were the ones sorting out problems. Thank you to you all. The main cheff tried to assist in the background where she could, and helped with a smile. Also a big thank you. It is just sad, the wedding coordinator, and NO management was around to assist when we so badly needed them. NO management... It was all left to a wedding coordinator, and the main chef.
Everybody enjoyed the wedding, so did we as parents. Thinking back, it was just sad that we as parents hardly had a wedding coordinator to solve issues on the evening of the wedding, whom originally was the person we planned the wedding with.
