The 2 star is for the quiet neighborhood ONLY. They dogs which are not tied and busy roaming around in the yard and barking at you, no that's just nonsense. The place is old everything is old from the room itself to the bed, linen, TV doors on shower there's a piece missing so now when you shower , water drips infact Flys on the floor, toilet seat everywhere!!!! There is a mold smell like when you get if a room is not getting enough ventilation or fresh air. I would never go back there again so. And the breakfast is sad to say the least, there are far better places in Pietermaritzburg than here and at far better prices.

It is located in a safe and quiet environment. The hosts are very sweet and welcoming. There is free parking inside the property. There is a beautiful garden and great WiFi. The room we had was clean and spacious, beautiful, simple decor. According to Booking.com breakfast was included but we didn't get any breakfast for the 2 nights we were there. There is no aircon. We were told that check out is at 6am. We left at 7.30am

The place itself is really beautiful and the staff was helpful too.
The owner however ruined the experience for us, she was in our faces the entire time and in the morning of our departure she even asked us when we're leaving. This is just a summary, we were subjected to a whole lot of unpleasant incidents purely based on our race.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

When we arrived I quickly discovered that the rooms that were offered to my 10 people and I weren't the same. I was very specific when I booked this place because of the partitioning of the rooms. When I asked her about it she told me that I will never get a cheap yet beautiful accomodation like hers. She then spoke to her helper and she didn't realise that I put the phone on speaker and I could hear her talking down on us. That was uncalled for. We then agreed that she will bring in one more bed in one of the rooms to make up for the partitioning. I was told that each room has a fridge, TV and cooling station but one of the rooms didnt have any of that. We were then told that we can't use the cupboards because we are sleeping for one night only. The bed that was given to me and has no duvet cover or comforter, just a sheet and fleece blanket. Wow. Suddenly there were kids jumping on the trampoline right by our door making so much noise. I asked for early check in and she said it's fine but springs an extra amount onto me last minute when I arrived the blames the app for it. The worst part about this was that the host started speaking Zulu with us and just assumed that we all speak Zulu even though we are from Jhb. We found it very condescending. There aren't enough cups or plates, it's was just a terrible experience. Do not come here!

This must rate as the worst accommodation expariences I have ever had. For a self catering space, there are no self catering utensils available like a kettle in every room, cups, teaspoons, plates, bowls... The basics Fam. The basics!!!! We came in as a group of 10 and only 1 room had a microwave. 1 room Fam. 1.I am shooketh. Dreams we were sold on the air BnB app!!! I will not recommend this space, such a pity because it really is a nice location but the service? Nah Fam. Y'all can miss me! Yoh!

Owners are friendly and welcoming. The place is neat and clean; however no information available on arrival regarding breakfast options (need to improve communication in this regard).
