We stayed at The Jays Guest House by default recently as the Council for whom my husband was working for the day had neglected to book us into our normal hotel accommodation. Well what a very pleasant surprise. The owners are lovely welcoming folk and the Bu0026B so comfortable and homely. We will definitely make The Jays our home-from-home for all our trips to Pietermaritzburg from now on. Three stars are not good enough - five would be more appropriate.

The owners are gracious and always on hand to assist if there are any issues. There are three wonderful rooms at the top of the garden and a few not so wonderful rooms attached to the house. the biggest issue is the intermittent wifi availability. It does become an issue some evenings. I also found some old food left by a previous guest in a cupboard once, so that was not to good.

Reasonably priced, clean rooms with delicious home cooked breakfasts. Owners are friendly, welcoming and always accommodating. Most of their business is return customers which is no suprise when they treat you so well.

In a tranquil suburb with the Bu0026B attached to the owner's house. Personal service offered to al guest with a welcome chit chat now and then. Rooms a bit old compared to the price to pay.

Comfortable, well appointed rooms close to the city centre. Beautiful garden setting.

Value for money. I slept comfotably, i loved the bed, clean and comfortable. There is room for improvement but overall i am not complaining.

If you want to stay at the best place in Pietermaritzburg, stay in the Jay's. John and Jane is the best hosts you will get
