The Museum has changed a lot since my last visit as a child but they still have the 3 legged chicken.

Last time I was here I was with my niece and my sister - and I did go again and I enjoyed it so much - the staff were cool and very friendly... I love that when you enter a room the sound effects starts to play at first it was scary but I love it.
Also there were kids when I was there - it's great to see children come to the museum and learn. I will add Photos of my favorite highlights.

This is an absolute amazing Museum. It's great to see that they still pride themselves in keeping this wonderful historic building in tip top condition. They're currently under construction and adding more to their exhibits and I cannot wait to see once it's finished. Do yourself and your kids a favour, to keep everyone busy for at least a good 4 hours in a day, and go to the KZN Museum. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic but hidden gem in our Capital City of Pietermaritzburg KZN. Indeed a natural history asset for South and Southern Africa as a whole. It deserves repeated visits with the family simply to absorb the amount of natural and human history and information showcased in its excellent exhibits.

Oh wow! Immaculately maintained. Moved the history of Mandela. A little bit shy to mention yrs, I used one of those singer sewing machines. Staff polite and helpful. Very inexpensive and educational family outing. Wheelchair access and clean solutions. Well done! It's truly a great experience!

it was excellent, historic and educational. There is a section dedicated to India and Mahatma Gandhi. The museum has incredible displays, well thought of and well kept. Lots to see and loads to learn!! A definite must for any tourists visiting the area.
